Beirut's new download (and site)

Beirut has posted a new track that is ripe for the downloading. The spectacular Zach Condon (frontman and founder) put up the new song on his new website, beirutband.com. The download link is in the upper right hand corner. While you're there, check out the rest of the site. It's a work of html art.

Feist and Friends do 1234

Watched Letterman recently? Well you should have watched it last night because Feist performed. Just the fact the Feist was performing should be enough for you to watch this video, but if it's not, check this out. Feist was backed by a choir of white clad indie artists which include:
All the members of Grizzly Bear, Mates of State, 3 members of The National, 2 members of Broken Social Scene(not including Feist herself) The front man of the New Pornographers, and some others.

I found True Romance

She Wants revenge has FINALLY come out with a new single. It has been entirely too long. True Romance, is what it is called, from their new c.d., titled This Is Forever, judging from this track, the c.d. promises to be as good as the last.

Here is a video of theirs, it's not the new single, but Shirly Manson is in it, that's cool.

Icelandic Spectacular

Sigur Rós is making their first film, and it's called Heima. It is a movie about the tour of their homeland, Iceland. With the beautiful Icelandic landscapes, and Sigur Rós' spectacularly entrancing ambient rock, I think this will be a very good thing. The DVD will come with a CD when it is released later this fall. You can watch the trailer below, or, if you want it in a higher resolution, you can find it here.

Also, Sigur Rós has two songs that are going to be on Leonardo DiCaprio's new film, "The Eleventh Hour."

The Perfect Crime

The Decemberists recently announced their release of The Perfect Crime #2 EP. It features remixes by Diplo, A Touch of Class, and Junior Boys, as well as some others. If you want to download the Junior Boys' remix, go here. All you have to do is sign up for The Decemberists' mailing list, and they will send you a link. The new EP will be released on September 25.
