On Wednesday Me, Samuel, and Keeton loaded into the lesbian car and headed for Thanksgiving point. After waiting in line and setting our blanket up, James Murphey and LCD Soundsystem took the stage, and the party began. Samuel and Keeton were squares, and stood in the back. But I, being the party animal (hah) went up the front to dance with people i had never met, which i did quite a lot of. If you think LCD is good on cd, you HAVE to see them live. It's literally amazing. If anything was ever amazing, it was them, live. After they blew my mind, and a man i never met before told me he was in love with me, we waited for The Arcade Fire to take the stage. WHen they DID finally take the stage, it was the best hour of my life.Arcade Fire's music is so much more powerful when they play it live. Every member of the band played a different instrument every song, and sometimes they would just walk around the stage and pick up an instrument nobody was playing.
Now, i am in Seattle, indie music capital of the world, and i can't wait.

Still Creating Friend Opportunities

Like Deerhoof? Well you can go and download a completely free mp3 album here. Don't you love it when bands don't make you download illegally? I do. In other news, the Arcade Fire/LCD Soundsystem tour kicked off yesterday. One week from tomorrow friends. One week. Hopefully I will blog more often. Maybe if I can get a break from school.

White Stipes anyone? Too bad

Do you like the White Stripes? Did you buy tickets for their shows? Well I am sorry to inform you of the cancellation of not only the Utah show, but all 19 of the U.S. dates. "Why is this happening?" you may be asking yourself, well according to a statement put out by the band, "The White Stripes announced today that they are canceling their forthcoming tour due to health issues. Meg White is suffering from acute anxiety and is unable to travel at this time."
They apologize for any inconvenience. Take your ticket back to where ever you bought it for a refund. Meg looks horrible in that picture.
I'm gonna punch Sam in his glasses, oh no.
Only joking kids. I could never do that. That's worse than like....stealing cookies.
On September 10 i went to Modest Mouse & Rilo Kiley at The Mckay Events Center. I have but a few things to say.
1.Even if you have never heard Modest Mouse, you will love them after seeing them live.
2.Seats suck.
3.Jenny Lewis GLOWS. She glows.
4.I didn't understand a thing the lead singer of MM said. At all.
Alright, anyway, the concert was amazing, and like i said, Modest mouse is so great live. It seemed like every song, the front members of the band were all playing different instruments. Keyboard, cello, guitar, banjo, harpsicord(?), pretty much whatever you can think of. So, if Modest Mouse comes to a city near you, get there.

I just gotta get myself over me.
Saturday morning, i awoke bright and early so that i would drive to Lehi NOT on the freeway. This took me about 40, but it was worth it. Jamboree Music Festival was on Saturday, and my groupd was the second one there. Even though we arrived about 3 1/2 hours before they opened the gate, it was ok. Wheh the gates FINALLY opened (1 hour late), me and the gang went to will call, claimed out guest list tickets, and headed over to the stage, where Love You Long Time was doing soundcheck. They were, of course the reason we got in for free, and so we had to show our support for them, by being in the front row and rocking it out. After Love You Long Time, a few bands i didn't really know played, and then there were The Aquabats. OH the Aquabats. They were amazing, as always, re-naming thanksgiving point "High Five City", fighting with the pilgrams, having sea horse races, that sort of thing. Later that night, The Format and Toad The Wet Sprocket played. They were amazing as well. I also managed to ocnvert my best friend, Tejan, into a Format lover, and we got to meet Nate afte they played!
It was realy super great, and when i get home i will put up a picture of me and Tejan with Nate.

I went my way (now I am coming back)

It's been a while because school has been rough. But I will try to do better. Right now, I am telling you about the new video for that Mark Ronson remix of Bob Dylan's, "Most Likely You Go Your Way (and I'll Go Mine)." If you haven't heard the remix than thats a real shame. But here's the video for it.

Luciano Pavarotti

Gone.
Everyone's favorite tenor has died. His recording sold over 100 million copies.
"My father was a great tenor. Beautiful voice. And he was fresh until two weeks before he died at the age of 90."
-Luciano Pavarotti
